About unit price

This unit price calculator compares products by their price per unit, so you can quickly see which is the best value. Enter the price and quantity for each option and the cheapest per-unit price is highlighted. It runs in your browser.

How Unit Price works

How to use it

  1. Enter each item's price and quantity (units, grams, ml — anything).
  2. Read the price per unit for each.
  3. The best value is highlighted in green.

How it works

Price per unit is simply price ÷ quantity. As long as you use the same unit for each item, the lowest number is the best value — regardless of pack size or special offers.

Worked example

Item A is 4.50 for 1,500 g → 4.50 ÷ 1500 = 0.0030 per gram. Item B is 3.20 for 1,000 g → 0.0032 per gram. Item A is cheaper per gram, so it is the better value despite the higher sticker price.

  • Find the best bulk-buy value
  • Compare pack sizes
