About the online notepad
An online notepad is a distraction-free place to write and keep text right in your browser. This one saves your note automatically as you type, so it is still there when you come back — even after you close the tab. It shows live word and character counts, works offline, and lets you download your note as a .txt file. Nothing is sent to a server; your text stays on your device.
How Notepad works
How to use the notepad
- Click into the editor and start typing — there is nothing to set up.
- Your note saves automatically to your browser as you write.
- Download it as a
.txtfile any time, or clear it to start fresh.
Autosave & privacy
Your note is stored locally in your browser (localStorage), not on a server, so it is private to your device and available offline. Clearing your browser data will remove saved notes, so download anything you want to keep.
Handy for quick writing
Use it as a scratchpad for ideas, to strip formatting by pasting rich text and copying it back as plain text, or to draft messages and posts without opening a heavy app.
