What is Placeholder Image?
Create placeholder (dummy) images for mockups and prototypes. Set the width, height, background color, text color and custom label, preview live and download a PNG. By default the label shows the dimensions, like real placeholder services — but offline and private.
How Placeholder Image works
The tool draws a rectangle of your chosen size and color onto a canvas, centers your text (or the dimensions) on it, and exports a PNG.
Example: 600×400 with a grey background gives a classic placeholder labeled '600 × 400'.
Common uses
- Fill mockups and wireframes with placeholders
- Generate exact-size dummy images
- Create labeled spacer or test images
- Avoid relying on external placeholder services
