How Tip works
The tip is a percentage of the bill, optionally split between people:
tip = bill × (tip% / 100)total = bill + tipper person = total / people
Worked example — bill, 15% tip, 4 people:
- Tip: 50 × 0.15 = 7.50
- Total: 50 + 7.50 = 57.50
- Per person: 57.50 / 4 = 14.38
