Your browser will ask for permission before sharing your location. Nothing is sent to us or stored — the coordinates are shown only to you, in your browser. Accuracy depends on GPS, Wi-Fi or your network.

What is Geolocation?

This tool finds your current geographic coordinates — latitude and longitude — using your device's location services, after you grant permission. It also shows the accuracy radius and altitude when available, and gives a one-click map link. Your location is displayed only to you and is never sent to us or stored.

How Geolocation works

When you click the button, the browser's navigator.geolocation.getCurrentPosition() asks your permission, then determines your position from GPS, Wi-Fi networks, cell towers or your IP. It returns latitude, longitude and an accuracy estimate in metres.

Accuracy is highest on phones with GPS and lower on desktops that rely on network location.

Common uses

  • Find your exact latitude and longitude
  • Share your coordinates or open them on a map
  • Check GPS accuracy on your device
  • Get coordinates for forms, weather or mapping tools

Frequently asked questions

How do I find my coordinates?
Click 'Show my location' and allow the permission prompt; your latitude and longitude appear instantly.
Is my location stored or shared?
No. It is detected in your browser and shown only to you. We never receive or store it.
Why is my location inaccurate?
Without GPS (e.g. on a desktop), the browser estimates position from Wi-Fi or your IP, which can be off by a wide margin.
Why did it say permission denied?
You or your browser blocked the location request. Allow location for this site in your browser settings and try again.
