About VAT
This VAT calculator adds VAT to a net price or removes VAT from a gross price at any rate, showing the net amount, the VAT amount and the gross total. VAT (value-added tax) is a consumption tax used in the UK, EU and many other countries. It runs in your browser.

- Read the net, VAT and gross figures.
How it works
Adding VAT: gross = net × (1 + rate/100). Removing VAT: net = gross ÷ (1 + rate/100), and the VAT is the difference. Use the rate for your country (for example 20% in the UK).
