What is EXIF Viewer?
EXIF Viewer reads the hidden metadata stored inside a photo: the camera and lens, exposure settings, the date it was taken and, if present, the GPS location. You can also download a copy with all metadata removed for privacy. It runs entirely in your browser.
How EXIF Viewer works
How to view EXIF data
- Drop a photo (JPG usually carries the most metadata).
- Read the camera, exposure, date and GPS details.
- Optionally click Download copy without EXIF to strip the metadata.
Note: many social networks remove EXIF when you upload, so some photos will show little or no data.
Common uses
- See what camera and settings took a photo
- Check the date a photo was taken
- Find or remove GPS location data
- Strip metadata before sharing for privacy
