How it works
The tool extracts the chosen seconds of video, samples them at your frame rate and scales them to your width, then encodes the frames as a looping GIF — all locally using ffmpeg in WebAssembly. The first time you use it, the engine (about 32 MB) downloads and is then cached.
Keeping the file small
GIFs grow quickly with length, frame rate and size. For a small, shareable GIF keep it short, use 10–15 fps and a width around 480 px.
