About the Pomodoro technique
A Pomodoro timer helps you focus using the popular Pomodoro Technique: work in focused 25-minute sessions separated by short breaks, with a longer break after every four sessions. This timer rings an alarm at the end of each phase, counts your completed focus sessions, and can auto-start the next phase — all in your browser, with adjustable lengths.
How Pomodoro Timer works
How to use the Pomodoro timer
- Click Start to begin a 25-minute focus session (this also enables the alarm sound).
- When it ends, the alarm rings and a 5-minute break begins.
- After four focus sessions you get a longer break. Use Skip to jump ahead or Reset to restart a phase.
Why it works
Short, timed sprints make big tasks feel manageable and protect your attention from distractions. Regular breaks keep you fresh, and the session counter gives a satisfying sense of progress through the day.
Make it yours
Adjust the focus, short-break and long-break lengths to suit your rhythm, and turn auto-start on or off. The remaining time also shows in the browser tab, so you can keep it in the background.
