Passport Photo Maker — a fast, free, privacy-friendly online tool that runs entirely in your browser.

Drop a head-and-shoulders photo, or click to choose
Face the camera, plain background, even lighting · processed in your browser
Drag to move · scroll or pinch to zoom · use the guide to size the head
Position your face inside the frame using the guide, pick your country's size, and download a print-ready photo at 300 DPI. The optional AI option replaces the background with a plain colour. Everything runs in your browser — your photo is never uploaded. Always check your authority's exact rules on head size, expression and background.

About passport photos

This tool crops your photo to a standard passport or ID size — such as US/India 2×2 inch, UK/EU/Schengen 35×45 mm, Canada 50×70 mm or China 33×48 mm — on a white background at 300 DPI. You can download a single photo or a 4×6 inch print sheet with several copies. It runs in your browser, so your photo stays private.

How Passport Photo works

How to use it

  1. Drop or choose a head-and-shoulders photo.
  2. Pick the passport or ID size for your country.
  3. Position your face inside the frame — drag to move, scroll or pinch to zoom, or click Auto-fit face to place it for you.
  4. Choose a plain background colour (optionally replace it automatically), tweak brightness and contrast if needed, then download one photo or a print sheet.

How it works

Your photo is placed in a frame with the exact width-to-height ratio of the chosen document. A dashed alignment guide shows the recommended top-of-head and chin lines and a face oval for that size, so you can scale and position the head to the official proportions. The result is rendered at the exact pixel size for 300 DPI — for example 413×531 px for a 35×45 mm photo or 600×600 px for a 2×2 inch photo.

Auto-fit, background and touch-up

In supported browsers, Auto-fit face detects your face and scales and centres it to the guide automatically. You can set a plain white, off-white, grey or light-blue background, or let the built-in AI replace the background entirely, and gently adjust brightness and contrast for even lighting — all in your browser.

Print-ready 300 DPI

The downloaded PNG has its real print resolution (300 DPI) embedded, so it prints at the correct physical size rather than being rescaled. The print-sheet option tiles several copies with cut guides onto a 4×6 inch, US Letter or A4 sheet so you can print at home or at a shop and cut them out.

Important

This tool sizes, frames and lightly enhances your photo. Each authority has its own rules on head size, expression, background and recency — always check the official requirements for your document before submitting.
