These recycling symbols (resin identification codes) are the numbers 1–7 inside the recycling triangle on plastics. They tell you the type of plastic and how recyclable it is.

| 4 | LDPE | Low-density polyethylene — bags, films |
| 5 | PP | Polypropylene — yogurt cups, bottle caps |
| 6 | PS | Polystyrene — foam cups, cutlery |
| 7 | OTHER | Mixed/other plastics (e.g. polycarbonate) |
Codes 1 and 2 are the most widely recycled; 3, 6 and 7 are the hardest to recycle.
